Manuscripts assigned with page numbers and bibliographic references. Authors are allowed to print their materials before the periodical is issued. Indexing  Articles published in «Russian Arctic» are registered in the scientific electronic library eLIBRARY.ru. The Editors are actively working to include the Journal in Russian and international scientific abstract and citation databases, including Russia’s Higher Attestation Commission and Scopus.  Archiving  Full-text issues of the «Russian Arctic» Journal are stored in the CyberLeninka scientific electronic library, in the electronic catalogue of scientific and technical literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences (VINITI RAS) and other citation and archiving databases.  Open access  Full versions of all scientific articles are published on the Journal’s website under a non-exclusive license granted by the Authors under an agreement with the Journal.           <abstract lang="RUS">Background. Human labor activity in the Arctic takes place under conditions of the combined effect of harmful production and climatic factors, which significantly increases the risk of occupational pathology. The aim of the study was to investigate the working conditions and occupational pathology of persons working in the Arctic zone of the Sakha Republic (AZRS). Materials and methods. We studied data of the socio-hygienic monitoring “Working conditions and occupational morbidity” of the population of the Russian Arctic. Results. It was found that in 2007-2019 in the AZRS, for the first time 27 occupational diseases were diagnosed mainly among workers engaged in the extraction of tin ore. No cases of diseases were detected in persons engaged in traditional economic activities. Most often, the development of occupational pathology was caused by fibrogenic aerosols (n = 12), and respiratory diseases predominated in its structure (n = 14). The annual prevalence of occupational pathology in AZRS ranged from 0 to 26.7 cases / 10,000 employees, and the risk of developing an occupational disease in 2007-2010 was higher than in 2016-2019: RR = 4.90; CI 1.44-16.62; p = 0.005. The reason for this was the absence of large industrial enterprises in the region and the cessation of tin ore mining. Conclusion. In AZRS, there is a low level of occupational morbidity, which had a pronounced downward trend in 2007-2019. It is necessary to increase the level of occupational pathological assistance to the AZRS population engaged in reindeer husbandry and other types of traditional economic activities. </abstract>

          <arttitle lang="RUS">Age and Experience Features of Development and Structure of Health Disorders In Kola Polar Miners</arttitle>

          <abstract lang="RUS">Introduction. The health status of a working person is determined mainly by his age, as well as by the intensity and duration of exposure to harmful production factors. The aim of the study was to assess the age and seniority characteristics of health disorders development in underground miners of the Kola Polar region. The material of the study included data from periodic medical examinations of 1828 miners who carried out underground mining of apatite-nepheline and copper-nickel ores. All of them had harmful working conditions of hazard classes 3.1-3.3. Results. It was found that at the beginning of their labor activity, miners have high rates of diseases of the eyes, respiratory and digestive organs, skin, and infectious pathology. During working life, there is an increase in the likelihood of developing musculoskeletal, nervous systems, circulatory, and ear diseases. At the same time, the importance of diseases of the eye and its appendages, respiratory and digestive organs, skin, infectious and parasitic diseases decrease with increasing age and length of service. The most significant negative changes in the health of miners occur at the age of 30-49 years and with a length of service of 6-15 years. During the labor activity, the number of diseases diagnosed in one worker increases 3.14-4.15 times, and the number of practically healthy persons among miners decreases from 20.9-22.0% to zero. Conclusion. The study of the health status of miners, taking into account changes in age and experience, makes it possible to predict age and seniority periods of increased risk of developing various classes of chronic pathology and to determine the periods of the most effective preventive measures.</abstract>

          <abstract lang="RUS">The birth rate and mortality of the population living in administrative-territorial formations with city-forming mining and metallurgical enterprises of the Murmansk region have their own characteristics, due not only to the conditions of the Far North, but also to the specifics of single-industry towns, socio-economic factors that have changed many times in recent decades. This circumstance confirms the dynamics of the natural movement of the population and its components over the past 30 years, the study of which was the purpose of this study. The objects of the study are the administrative-territorial formations of the Murmansk region, which have mining and metallurgical complexes as city-forming enterprises (ATF MMC). It was established that in 1989 the coefficient of natural growth of the population living in administrative territories having as city-forming enterprises of ATF MMC was higher than the average for the Murmansk region by 23%. By 1995, the coefficient of natural population growth in ATF MMC decreased to a level below the regional average and the entire subsequent analyzed period did not exceed the values for the Murmansk region, and again in 2019 it reached the indicator of 2005 – the lowest level for the entire thirty-year summer period studied. Since 1990, there has been a constant depopulation in ATF MMC, which is associated with the predominance of mortality over the birth rate and a negative balance of migration.</abstract>

          <abstract lang="RUS">The purpose of the study was a comparative analysis of the indicators of acute poisoning cases with alcoholic products of the population living in 4 regions of the Russian Arctic and the identification of risk areas. We used the regional bases of toxicological monitoring for 2008-2020 in 4 regions of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation (Murmansk Oblast, Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Chukotka Autonomous Okrug). The research found that risk areas of poisoning with alcoholic products are the Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. Despite a pronounced trend towards a decrease in the rates of acute poisoning among the population of these regions to levels below the national average, the problem of poisoning with alcoholic products remains extremely relevant. Considering that the consumption of alcoholic products in the northern regions is traditionally high, it is necessary to improve the method of toxicological monitoring and in-depth study of the causes of poisoning.</abstract>
